Say Yes, Say Yebo...to helping Africa. Your loose change can change a child's life. The facts: - AIDS has killed over 20 million worldwide with the majority in Africa.
- As many as 14 million children currently under the age of 15 have lost one or both paretns to AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa.
- By 2010 There will be an estimated 25 million AIDS orphans in sub-Saharan Africa-more than all the children in the United Kingdom.
- Because most of the deaths occur in the young and the middle adult population, AIDS leaves in its wake a destitue population of children and elderly.
- Less than 10 percent of children orphaned by AIDS are recieving any kind of help or assitance
- There is one new orphan every 14 seconds.
The Crisis: An entire generation of children and teens will soon inherit the burden of HIV and AIDS. They will have grown up knowing nothing but the afflicion of this disease. It has left millions of children with nowhere to turn for help. Many of the are left to fend for themselves, they are hurting, alone, hungry, and desperately needing our help. God gave us our commision in James 1:27 when He told us "...to look after orphans and widows in their distres..." The world has never known a humanitarian crisis greater than this one. We cannot just sit back and watch as millions of children are left homeless. Their Greatest Hope: The magnitude of the orphan crisis in Africa is staggering, and it demands a respone as big as God. The response must come through His followers as we open our hearts and give compassionately just like Jesus. The greatest hope these hurting children have is you and me. With open arms, almost every nation in sub-Saharan Africa is pleading with us to come and help them. If we will answer the call, an entire generation can be shown and taught the love of Jesus; they can be cared for, educated, and sent back into their communities to have a positive Christian influence on others as healthy, thriving young adults. How to Help: Simply collect your loose change on a daily basis and keep it in the distributed container and bring the container to church at the end of every month.
